We are excited that many of the Marans of America Club members are
striving to show their French Standard Marans in APA Sanctioned
Shows. The only way that the Marans will be accepted into
the APA Standard Book of Perfection is to show as many of the correct
standard birds as possible. Our Marans in the US are still a work in progress, and Marans
breeders should aim for the same French Standards that our birds are judged by from their motherland. If the correct,
standard, birds are presented to the APA judges, and they are able to look and judge by these, then
I am assured that the Marans will be a accepted and judged correctly. Regardless of what is accepted into the APA standards, MOAC members will strive to adhere to the French Standards in their own personal breeding program. This will save the French Marans as the Genuine Article. We can't go wrong if we do this right!
